Throughout my life I have found immense privilege in being able to support, grow and learn with individuals and families. I feel grateful to be able to offer a counselling relationship with compassion, autonomy, and authenticity. Counselling is a place to show up as you are and take the time to access a unique empathetic relationship. My hope is to build a sense of safety, compassion and connection as we explore your goals and support needs. I acknowledge that I am an uninvited settler on the land of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, and I respectfully honour their customs, traditions, and relationships with the land which continue to this day. I value inclusion, advocacy, transparency, and authenticity which has led me to the counselling profession. I was born and raised on Vancouver Island and reside with my partner, daughter and two cats in Victoria.
Why Choose Cats Pajamas Counselling
I chose Cats Pajamas Counselling as the name for my practice because embracing something playful felt like a small but meaningful step toward my own healing. I have learned how important humour and playfulness can be in the therapeutic relationship. Play can lighten all that we carry in our day to day lives. I chose cats specifically because I know them to be well boundaried, clear communicators, kind, and nurturing – all attributes I strive to provide in the therapeutic relationship. My hope for using the name pyjamas is to signify that you can truly show up as you are in the moment- even if it is in your PJ’s!
